This has been all over my flist. So, just to prove that I'm a sheep, here goes:
Name your 10 absolutely favorite couples (het/slash/canon/fanon) and ask people to see what trends they notice about your couples. Try to pick different fandoms.
1. Dean/Castiel (SPN)
2. Spike/Fred (Angel)
3. Buffy/Wesley (BtVS, Angel)
4. Harm/Mac (JAG)
5. Mulder/Scully (X-Files)
6. Alec/Logan (Dark Angel)
7. Catherine/Warrick (CSI)
8. Wash/Zoe (Firefly)
9. Duncan/Amanda (Highlander)
10. Victor/Sierra (Dollhouse)
Um, that was harder than I thought it would be. I could come up with way more than ten just from the Buffyverse and Supernatural by themselves, but trying to come up with ten (mostly) different fandoms was difficult.

Day five of no air conditioning. I now know what hell feels like.
If I disappear permanently, it will be because I've drowned in my own sweat.

You know what's awesome? Star Trek. Star Trek is beyond awesome. It is possibly one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. And I've never been much of a Trek fan. I've seen various episodes of the different shows here and there and a few of the movies, but that's it. But this one, I love. Love. I need to see it again. And buy it on DVD. *nods*
You know what isn't awesome? Four days of working in a building with no air conditioning. I have two fans blowing on me, and if I sit really still and don't do anything, I feel, not comfortable, but not like I'm about to die, either. When I get up and actually do work? Ugh. Why are we without air conditioning? Because they're supposedly putting a new one in. But they've been putting a new air conditioner in for FOUR days, and I'd really like them to move past that part and on to the part where the damn thing is doing its job.
And something that could possibly be awesome if I wasn't so nervous/terrified that I'll be a sobbing, quivering emotional wreck and/or plotting the violent death of certain television show creators who get off on toying with their fans - it's Thursday! SPN finale tonight! As if last week didn't break me enough, I'm anxiously waiting for tonight to finish the job. I've loved this season from the beginning, and I'm anxious to see how Kripke ends it and how much pain he's going to be leaving us in for the entire summer. I have a bad feeling he's going to be topping last year's painful finale. But whee! SPN tonight! Dean! Sam! Castiel! Bobby! Yay!

I don't know how much internet access I'll have later today and over the weekend, so I'm posting this now.
I've got five Dreamwidth invites for anybody who does not have one yet and wants one. Just let me know. :-)
Also, I'm thomasina75 over there, although, I'm not sure yet how much I'll use it.

So bored today, so I let
enigmaticblues interview me.
1. Marry/shag/cliff: Dean Winchester, John Winchester, Sam Winchester.
Ack!!! Going for the hard one first, huh? Damn, can't I have all three? Sigh. Okay, here goes. Cliff: John Winchester (that really hurt to do). Shag: Sam Winchester. Marry: Dean Winchester. Or maybe I'd reverse the boys. If we're talking season 1 or 2, I'd probably switch them around. Now with Sam going all dark, I'll leave it the way it is. Maybe. I don't know. They're inseparable anyway, so if I get one, I get the other. I can live with that. Can I have Castiel, too? ;-)
2. What is your least favorite pairing, the one that makes you shudder in horror?
Hmmm. Dean/Bela makes me cringe pretty hard. Dean/Buffy does, too. Or I could go with my old standby, Buffy/Giles. If we're talking shippy fics, those would probably be my answers. If you're talking about just any pairing, not necessarily romantic pairings, then Dean/John. Just seeing that pairing name written makes me shudder in horror.
3. If you could commission someone else to write a fic for you, what would it be?
I don't know. Since crossovers are my big SPN fic kink, I'd probably say either that X Files crossover I can't get off the ground, or maybe a BtVS or AtS crossover that doesn't end up being Dean/Buffy or Dean/Faith.
4. You're offered the chance to travel back in time and change one thing in your own life. What would that one thing be?
I'd go straight on to grad school right after getting my undergraduate degree. I was so burned out on school after my senior year in college that I decided to wait before going back, but the longer you're out, the harder it gets to go back.
5. If you could have any animal as a pet, what would it be? It doesn't matter if it's a normally wild animal.
Ooh, cool question. I want a Koala bear. I just think they're so cute. A penguin would be my second choice.

Not much to say about the movie. Jensen was hot, and I really like the idea of seeing him on the big screen. I had fun at the movie. It was okay, I guess. Not painful, wash-my-eyes-out-with-acid bad like Devour, thankfully. The 3D thing was kind of cool. And again, Jensen was hot. That was the important part. *g*
Still, if I can make a request to Jensen? More Ten Inch Hero type movies and fewer bad horror movies please? I know you have to take what you can get, but yeah. I would be most grateful.
The coolest part really didn't have much to do with the movie itself. Last night was truly a fangirl night for me because I got to see all three Winchesters on the big screen. Before the movie began, they played the Watchmen trailer and then right after it, the Friday the 13th trailer. So I got Jensen in the movie and Jared and JDM before it. Yay!

I was really shocked and sad to find out Kim Manners passed away. I loved his work on SPN, of course, but also on the X-Files. His presence will certainly be missed.
Anyway, I'm finally going to see My Bloody Valentine 3D tonight. Late, yes, I'm a bad Jensen Ackles fangirl, I know, but I was visiting
enigmaticblues that weekend, and I do like Jensen a lot, but I still like her better. ;-)
Except, of course, none of the theaters I go to regularly are showing it in 3D, and, really, if I'm dragging myself to a movie called "My Bloody Valentine 3D," I'd better be getting some pickaxes flung at my head or something like that. The closest theaters showing it in 3D are about an hour away from me, and I've found four different versions of the directions. On top of that, two Google and Mapquest are saying that the theater is in two different places. I'm starting to feel like I'm going to end up down in that mine.
This is what I get for living in a small town in the middle of nowhere. Hopefully the movie will be worth it. Although, I've seen Jensen Ackles in person, so I doubt 3D can measure up to that. ;-)
The things being a fangirl makes me do. *facepalm*

The good part about my Thanksgiving? Getting to leave work early on Wednesday. A four day weekend. Family and kitty time. Getting an early Christmas present from my parents in the form of a new HDTV.
The bad part about my Thanksgiving? Getting coughed on by the guy selling me the TV and waking up Sunday morning with a fever and a cough. Ugh. I ended up getting an extra vacation day thanks to him, but it wasn't much fun because I spent it in bed. Now the cold seems to be working its way toward becoming a sinus infection. Just what I needed.
And a meme:

1. Not sure how I feel about the new profile. It's not very attractive. I could probably live with it, though, if it didn't put all the useless statistics that no one cares about at the very top of the page.
2. I finally caved and signed up for Facebook not too long ago. I'm feeling kind of weird about it, though, and haven't put anything in the profile, added any pictures, or pretty much done anything with it at all. When I signed up, it automatically showed me several people I'd gone to high school with, and I think bad high school memories are causing the weirdness. My shyness sneaks up on me at the weirdest times. Anyway, I should probably figure out what to do with Facebook, if anything at all.
3. I can definitely tell we're nearing the middle of the TV season. Every year this time I start shedding TV shows like my cat sheds fur in the summer. It's never due to me disliking a show so much I can't watch anymore, just disinterest, I guess. I seem to have given up on Heroes altogether. The same with Gossip Girl, except I do like this show and still want to get caught up. I'm at least two episodes behind on Pushing Daisies. Three episodes behind on The Sarah Connor Chronicles. I haven't watched Grey's Anatomy at all. Supernatural is the only show I'm able to keep up with. And I seem to have gone back to watching CSI for some reason.
4. I'm in an odd place with SPN, as well. I'm loving every episode, and really, I'm loving this season much, much more than last season. I just don't have a lot to say about the episodes right now. Maybe that'll change soon? I don't know.
5. And, speaking of TV shows, it seems like Fox is putting Dollhouse on Fridays at 9:00 and Sarah Connor on just before it. Huh. Sadly, I'm not surprised at all. I was pretty sure early on in the season that I was putting too much trust in Fox again and they'd find some way to screw me over. Although, I'd been having nightmares that Fox would be nasty and put the shows on Thursday nights, making keeping up with them difficult. Glad that didn't happen. Ah, well, I'm willing to be optimistic and wait and see what happens.

One of the student groups here is sponsoring an Oktoberfest thingy soon. The list of things going on at this Oktoberfest includes the following: German tasting tent.
Yeah. Everyone else in the office saw this and thought, "Mmmmm. German food." Me? Heh. I saw it and, literally, the first thing out of my mouth was: "Are Germans supposed to taste differently? And is this really appropriate to hold at a conservative Southern Baptist university?"
*facepalm*
There was also an extended giggling session yesterday at an email we received. It was a list of buildings that will be without water this Saturday. Instead of listing the 'former men's basketball office' and the 'former women's basketball office,' they listed the 'old men's basketball office and the 'old women's basketball office,' which left me with the unfortunate image of 80-year-old men and women in basketball shorts and walkers running around on a basketball court in my head. As I said, much giggling ensued, but at least I wasn't the only one who thought it this time. :-P
Also, I just realized that it's been three weeks since my last post. I've been a crappy LJ friend, and I don't mean to be. Things are just weird, and when things get weird, I start to lurk. *promises to be better*

Ah, finally. My shows are coming back. This makes me happy.
The IT guy at work was in here just now talking about computers and how they should make things easier for us, do our work for us, and how great it is that his printer emails him now whenever something is wrong. And what's going through my geeky brain while I'm listening? Oh great, we're one step closer to Cylons and Terminators destroying the world.
I think I might watch too much TV. *headdesk*
