Title: A Hellmouth Full of Possibilities
Pairing: Spike/Faith
Summary: Post-NFA, Spike moves to Cleveland and tries to move on with his life.
Author's Note: Written for redwolfoz. The challenge was 'laundromat' and Spike with anyone who isn't Buffy. I tried for Spike/Dawn, but my muse wasn't listening. Nor was it listening when my brain naturally wanted smut. This is what came out. Hope it's okay. :-)



The reasons behind Spike's trip to Cleveland were many. The desire to keep fighting the good fight. The overwhelming need to get the hell out of LA and as far away from Angel and Illyria as possible.

The lack of access to airplanes with necro-tempered glass.

A good old-fashioned Hellmouth with vampires and demons that naturally avoided corporate life was exactly what he needed to get his life back on track. And that it was minus the drama caused by a certain Slayer’s presence was a definite benefit.

So when he stumbled upon Faith pretending to be vamp bait in a 24-hour laundromat, he almost left town. Almost.

“So you’re the one that’s been doing my job for me,” she said as Spike pushed his way through the double doors of the empty business.

He snorted as he got a better look at her. She was seated on the edge of an orange folding table, shirt missing and denim-clad legs swinging off the side. Next to her was a basket full of various articles of clothing, which from the look of them, nothing belonged to her. Just behind her a washing machine was rumbling quietly.

“That look’s not fooling anyone, pet,” he drawled, his eyes roving down her chest and stopping at the skimpy black lace bra that covered her breasts.

“Owner pays to keep the place vamp free at night. You’d be surprised just how many vamps out there fall for it.” She grinned as he stopped just inches from her. “I guess coming back from the dead’s a new trend now?”

“Something like that,” he answered with a shrug.

She extended her arm and let her fingers travel slowly up his bicep. “Planning on hanging around?”

Meeting her smirk with one of his own, he caught her hand and held onto it. “Nothing better to do. Could do with a good spot of violence. Or something else.”

Faith looked at their enjoined hands and then let her eyes move over the rest of his body, purposefully stopping just below his waist. “Hear Rome’s nice.”

He shook his head and dropped her hand. “Not goin’ there, luv. Can’t do it anymore.”

She nodded, something akin to understanding crossing her face as she looked back at him. “Not lookin’ for true love here.”

He touched her cheek, sucking in a breath as her warmth seeped into his fingers. “Neither am I.”
